Functional recovery of the shoulder

L 'glenohumeral joint is the most mobile in the body due to the fact that its surfaces are hardly congruent.

The strength of the shoulder joint is ensured:

  • passively from the capsule and ligaments;
  • active muscle from the apparatus;

Its stability, therefore, is a capsule-type muscle. The capsule-muscle elements must play two contradictory functions:

  1. be flexible enough to allow large amplitude of movements;
  2. be both strong enough to oppose to the phenomenon of dislocation.

This brief introduction to understand the anatomical shoulder joint is a very complex and to ensure that the large movements of the arms is often subject to problems is reserved for sports professionals and amateurs. The most common problems are:

  • impingement syndrome (impingement);
  • instability;
  • tendinopathy of the rotator cuff.
