I'm back to continue the nth section inherent to the theme "Living in Dublin . Today I wanted to talk about this more hot and attractive to migrants: the work and how the situation here in Dublin.

The explosion of call eBay and PayPal-style center, the opening of new departments and the need to fill them with experts, professionals, especially young graduates and native speakers from all over Europe has called for major recruitment mainly among foreigners.
Foreigners have been and are still alive inside an engine of Irish society, certainly not by itself ready to support with one million inhabitants that gave Dublin at the time and the limited specialization (still, alas, this unfortunately in different areas) of the premises.
But we must not look only to multinational companies to understand the degree of wealth developed in this city in particular. In Dublin also work as the most modest waiters, inexperienced and novice, is to go back home with a fair amount of money. To better understand each port a comparison between my university experiences in Rome and I've lived here instead.
Working in two different local Roman taverns / restaurants, I was regularly paid at the time with an average of 40 000 pounds a night. The work began around 17:00, there were to arrange the tables for dinner and organize everything. One could go on indefinitely, even up to 1: 30 in the morning if necessary, and it was expected to pay extra. The tips were around 10, 15 000 pounds per day when it was a bang, but the situations were very rare and more often came home with nothing more a promise that I would be paid the next day.

Juice of speech: they have well defined schedules beyond which no one wants to work, beginning with the owners.
The average pay was around, at least until a couple of years ago, around 45-50 € Fixed evening. The beauty, however, was on the tips. There exists in fact an American approach to the thing, so the tip is not a plus that you leave if you are really satisfied with the work of those who we need, but a normal practice that some quantify with percentage, 5% -10% of the cost the meal. Two fast calculations can imagine a novice and inexperienced waiter could come back home, though clearly working in a busy place, with at least € 100 in his pocket at night.
All this has served me die then to explain how we should not be mega manager to have enjoyed the wealth developed from Dublin but that wealth is distributed in a phased manner to different classes of workers fortunately.
That is, however, described the situation a few years ago, now the process has begun a rapid decline and the many private employment agencies that you could see all affigere at any time are no longer so popular. Entire companies have moved their offices to cheaper countries, just as they did ten years ago when they moved here. IBM has deployed in China, entire sectors, is decreasing heavily, Pfizer fired in bursts, Yahoo even say it (will also cause problems within the company), Xerox was a pioneer here in Ireland has just decamped.
The scenario is not catastrophic, but it certainly is not smiling as before, considering that having a job here is not equivalent to having a job in any other country where there is a minimum level of protection of the worker. Lavorare a Blanchard Town per esempio (dove sono presenti eBay e PayPal tra le altre) vuol dire per chi vive in centro città, svegliarsi almeno alle 6:30 del mattino per prendere un autous alle 7:00-7:30 e arrivare a lavoro in orario (sorvolo sulla questione dei trasporti di cui ho già mostrato un video rather than explanatory). Dublin is in my view still a great opportunity for those who are young and want to start working, no matter what. The work you do not pull it below as one might think but there's still time for anyone who strives to find him. We are no longer in a time of plenty that's true, so put away the fables and return to reality is the first condition for those who decide to move to Ireland now.
